All women gain approximately 40 lbs. between the ages of 8 to 14. This weight gain is NORMAL and NECESSARY as a girl’s body is changing and becoming that of a young woman’s. Yet half of teenage girls are, or think they should be on diets. Three out of one hundred girls will take this too far, becoming anorexic or bulimic.
The media LIES to us: “You must look like a model on a magazine cover in order to be worthwhile and happy.” The FACT is: 80% of our top models are anorexic. Do you really want to be like them?
The pictures of these perfect bodies are NOT EVEN REAL! They are composites of Different parts taken from Different women and electronically altered to portray a perfect body. We are upholding an image that is not even based on reality!
Your body will never be “perfect”, but it can be healthy. Stop pursuing perfection, rather pursue health.
Moderate Physical Exercise + Eating Wisely + Sufficient Sleep = Healthier Body
Your body is on loan from your Heavenly Father and He loves you deeply.
“For you created my inmost being;
You knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Your works are wonderful; I know that full well.”
(Psalm139: 13-14, NIV)
